Catastrophes and accidents
Travelling using different means of transport may be dangerous and take lives of many people. Different means of transport may become the instrument of attack and making profits. Accidents that take place in the roads may be really impressive as their results are the deaths of people.
Some huge catastrophes entered the world history.
For example the story of "Titanic" is known all over the world. The ship sank taking lives of many people. It is a legendary ship that thought to be unsinkable. She was the biggest ship in that time. She came into collision with iceberg and sank. Only several people survived, and almost all passengers and the crew died. The film was shot on base of the story and is the film that got the biggest number of Academy Awards during the history of existence of this organization. The film became popular all over the world and is still of great importance.
There are a lot of ships that sank in oceans and seas. People say that there are special mystical places on our planet, where ship catastrophes are especially frequent. Such place is the Bermuda Triangle in the Atlantic Ocean, where a lot of ships disappeared. Till nowadays people don't know where these ships are now. Planes also disappear in this zone. So, people made up a lot of theories and legends to explain the phenomenon of this zone.
Recently the ship "Faina" has become very popular. Modern pirates seized the Ukrainian ship taking hostages and holding the Ukrainian government to ransom. They threatened to kill all hostages. Besides, there was a military cargo on board of the ship.
Unfortunately, some means of transport may become the instruments of attack. On September 11, 2001 the Muslims hijacked the plane and crashed it into two towers of the World Trade Centre that caused their falling burring hundreds of people under their stones. Four planes were hijacked, two of them hit these two towers, and the third hit the pentagon and the forth crashed in the field, because the passengers regained control over the plane.
You may hear a lot of news about planes crashes that take place almost every day. So some people are even afraid to use planes as every minute they are afraid that the plane will crash.
Airports of the world take measures to prevent such acts of terrorism and to make the travelling of their passengers safer.
Accidents in the roads are the most frequent nowadays. And I bet almost every person who is a driver saw a traffic accident at least one time. Accidents in the roads may be very dangerous and they are provoked by driving a car in alcoholic inebriation. A person can't control his/her actions not to mention driving a car. And the worst is that even if you are a careful driver you are not insured from drunk drivers. Besides, some people like the speed and street racing that may be also dangerous. First of all not even experienced driver is able to drive a car on high speed, as it becomes very difficult to manage the car as every movement of the wheel provokes flexible movements of a car.
The only recommendation that may be given is to be careful and to remember that when you are driving a car you are not only responsible for your own life but for the life of other drivers, passengers and pedestrians.
